The Belgian speciality is the **Car-Pass** : the official odometer history, which must be handed over when a used car is sold in Belgium — the best protection against a clocked odometer, so always ask for it. The registration certificate is issued in Dutch or French depending on the region; either is acceptable for registration, but a bilingual sales contract is expected here too. - **CAR-PASS** — Car-Pass mileage certificate — In Belgium it is mandatory when selling a used car — ask for it. - **TWO LANGUAGES** — Dutch or French documents — The language depends on the region. Registration tax and transfer duty are still payable, though. The Car-Pass is not an official requirement in the Hungarian procedure, but it is the strongest tool for a pre-purchase check: it itemises the mileage readings recorded at Belgian inspections. ## How much does it cost to register a car from Belgium?
