The document is the **Documento Único Automóvel (DUA)** , which since 2010 has combined the former registration certificate (livrete) and title (título de registo de propriedade) on a single sheet. The technical inspection is the **IPO** . Registration tax and transfer duty are still payable, though. The Portuguese IPO inspection report also records the odometer reading, so it is a good source for a pre-purchase check. If the IPO has lapsed, an individual approval procedure and an official technical inspection are required in Hungary. ## How much does it cost to register a car from Portugal? For an average 90 kW, five-year-old passenger car the **basic official cost** **150,000 – 210,000 Ft** , depending on whether there is a valid foreign inspection. These are basic official fees.
