The exact amount varies from vehicle to vehicle: it depends on the type and drivetrain, the engine power, the year and the date of first registration, the environmental class, and on whether the vehicle currently has a valid inspection. The four weightiest factors: - **P.2** — Power output — It is also the basis of the duty and the registration tax. - **V.9** — Emission class — A 24-fold difference within the same kW band. - **B** — First registration — This gives the depreciation allowance. - **46.200 FT** — Whether there is a valid inspection — The single largest item. The second part of the foreign registration certificate. If it is missing, the Hungarian authority may refuse to issue the plate, and origin verification is needed — 14,715 Ft and several weeks. Van vizsgalap? A date in the registration papers is not enough. With Austria and Italy the expiry is often unclear — in that case the authority requires a new inspection. Is the contract correct? The VIN and the seller’s details must match the documents letter for letter. One typo and the whole file bounces back. Is the vehicle free of liens? For electric and hybrid vehicles, yes. **When should I take out the insurance?** You do not have to take it out — arranging the liability and comprehensive cover is part of the service and we do it.
