Enter the vehicle details

We request the certificate from the manufacturer using the chassis number. You can fill in every field from the registration certificate. Completing this form is not a condition of ordering — you can also e-mail the documents after paying.

!
No CoC can be ordered for this vehicle

There is no CoC for American and third-country vehicles — it only exists for models with European type approval built for the European market, and it cannot be obtained later. Registering such a vehicle in Hungary is possible, but it requires different technical documentation and a different official procedure.

If you are not sure, send us the 17-character chassis number (VIN) and we will check whether a CoC can be ordered for that vehicle.

i

It is fine if you do not know. Send us the chassis number and we will check, before processing the order, whether a CoC can be issued for that vehicle. If it cannot, we do not start the process and you are not charged anything.

Documents

Upload photos or scans of the documents — all at once if that suits you; none of them is mandatory. If you do not have them to hand, you can e-mail them after ordering.

  • · Registration certificate — both sides
  • · Vehicle title — or its foreign equivalent, e.g. a Fahrzeugbrief
  • · Sales contract — if you have just bought it
  • · ID card — both sides
  • · Address card — both sides
Getting in touch
!

Ordering is disabled for this version because the CoC cannot be obtained. Send us the chassis number (VIN) and we will check free of charge — if it can be issued after all, we start immediately.

Payment goes through SimplePay’s secure page, via the Add to cart / Order now button — whether or not you filled in the form above. After you order we send a confirmation by e-mail and tell you if any further document is needed.
When do you need it?

Four situations where a CoC is essential

Electric and hybrid vehicles

The authorities require it, and it is the only proof of the electric range needed for a green plate.

Import from outside the EU

For an American or other non-EU vehicle, the CoC proves that it meets EU requirements.

Selling abroad

Buyers on Mobile.de and AutoScout24 expect it, and it lets you sell the vehicle for more.

Fast-track registration

For an EU vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes it speeds up the official procedure, because the factory data can be verified at once.

Frequently asked questions about ordering

What is the total cost?

Our service fee 39.990 Ft + VAT, payable when you order. On top comes the manufacturer’s own fee, EUR 100–180 depending on the brand — we pass that on once the brand representative tells us.

What is needed to order?

The VIN, the vehicle registration certificate, the proof of ownership, and your ID card and address card.

Can a lost CoC be replaced?

With Hungarian documents in nearly every case. For a foreign vehicle a secondary CoC can be requested from the manufacturer, subject to approval.

For which vehicles can it be obtained?

For every passenger car and light commercial vehicle, up to 3.5 tonnes gross weight.

What happens if the manufacturer refuses?

We refund the full amount paid. In that case we look for an alternative for the official procedure, such as an individual technical data sheet.

Is a CoC always needed for registration?

No. For an EU vehicle, if the foreign registration certificate contains all technical and environmental data, it is generally not required. For electric, hybrid and non-EU vehicles it is.
