Registering and licensing a car from Croatia
Full Hungarian administration for a vehicle imported from Croatia. We tell you what it costs, which papers you need and how long it takes.
What to watch out for when importing a Croatian car
Croatia is an EU member; there is no customs procedure. Two documents belong to the vehicle: the prometna dozvola (registration certificate) and the knjižica vozila (vehicle book, the equivalent of the title) — registration needs both. When buying from a private seller it is common to agree verbally only; without a written, bilingual contract, though, the Hungarian procedure stalls.
Which documents are needed for a car imported from Croatia?
